Another Connection with the Boston Marathon

Sunday I posted a review of Ray Charbonneau’s new book Overthinking the Marathon. This morning Ray contacted me and let me know he crossed the finish line of the Boston Marathon ten minutes before the explosion. Ray was a guide for a blind marathoner from Texas, as a volunteer with the Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Ray’s wife, Ruth, was at the 30K point in the marathon when the explosions went off.

Ray runs with the Sommerville Road Runners who had between 60 and 70 members at the race. All of the members from his club were okay.

You can read the entire article here and visit Ray’s website at http://www.y42k.com/index.html.
